My Story
Founder Skya Gorby is a Junior in high school in rural Colorado. She learned about Period Poverty from a period product box during her own period. The thought of other teens or individuals not able to go to school, sports or work because they did not have period products was mind blowing.
She wrote an essay and presentation in her high school English class about Period Poverty. She quickly realized that there is a huge need for education to her classmates -both men and women- about periods and accessibility to period products. She also noticed the stigma behind talking about periods, and how it made so many people uncomfortable.
She felt she needed to do more...Brightcycles. org was formed.
